Don Costa and I were sitting in the control room listening to all the playbacks. When the last song finished, we were silent for quite a while. We looked at each other, stood up...and hugged for a long time. I started to say something...Don said, "Don't speak...just listen. This just might be the best album we have done together."

Again I wanted to say something, Don said again, "Don't speak." He went on to say, "Your voice was thrilling and your interpretation of these great songs made this a musical experience for me. You've inspired me to write the best arrangements I have ever composed."

He went on and on...I don't remember what else he said, but when he stopped...I truly had nothing to say. (For me...that was saying a lot!)

We embraced again...he kissed me and started to leave. When he got to the door, he turned, looked at me and said "Thanks for letting me listen to Eydie in Love". He left!

I just stood there with his words echoing in my head...over and over again...my eyes filled with tears...
