A NOTE FROM EYDIE I have received many requests for this album that I recorded in 1965...during my Columbia years. The original album featured some of Broadway's biggest and best songs of the time...and what a time it was. Also, by request, I have added nine bonus tracks of songs that I recorded and in some cases introduced from other marvelous broadway shows. I love all the songs in this album, but there are a few that are particular favorites of mine that are not as well known. For example..."The Friendliest Thing"...which came from "What Makes Sammy Run," which starred my husband, Steve Lawrence, and also..."Time Heals Everything"...written by my pal Jerry Herman, for "Mack and Mabel." From "Company," the "Ladies Who Lunch," which I introduced before the show opened, is another blockbuster song written by Stephen Sondheim. So here it is...Gorme on Broadway...digitally re-mastered with the addition of nine bonus tracks...I give all my thanks again to the great song writers, the creative arrangers and the talented musicians who joined me in this project. Come along with me as we journey along "The Great White Way"...I am pleased to present the best of broadway. Sincerely,
