A NOTE FROM STEVE...

In 1962 I was recording for Columbia Records. We released an album called "Winners." It was brilliantly orchestrated and produced by my good friend… Marion Evans. All these songs are "Winners." One in particular… "Go Away Little Girl"… written by Carol King and Gerry Goffin… went to #1 on the charts, and sold well over a million. Gold records are very nice to have.

By the time 1970 rolled around… I was recording for RCA. We released an album entitled "On A Clear Day." I selected some of my favorite songs from Broadway's biggest and best musicals. One of my favorites in the collection, "Mama, A Rainbow," came from the Broadway show, "Minnie's Boys." The story was about the Marx brothers. "Mama, A Rainbow" is a beautiful and unusual love song written by Hal Hackady and Larry Grossman… and sensitively orchestrated by Torrie Zito.

My thanks to all the songwriters and arrangers for their remarkable contribution. After many requests… I decided to release these two original LP's on one CD.
